Directions from Cape Town:
Travel along the N2 towards Caledon over Sir Lowry’s Pass and through the Elgin Valley. At Botriver (approximately 100 km from Cape Town) take the Hermanus R43 off ramp. Travel approximately 26 km until the 2nd set of traffic lights (2km before Hermanus) and turn left at this SandBaai/Hemel en Aarde junction on the R320 to Caledon. Travel up this ‘Hemel en Aarde Valley’ road for 8km and after a steep little pass section turn left at the Karwydeskraal/De Bos Dam sign and travel down a dirt road over the dam wall, keep right and travel around the dam until you see the Artists House/ Stonehaven sign on the right. Turn right and travel back down to the dam where you keep left at the bottom and travel along the fynbos drive to the stone house.
Directions from Garden Route:
Travel west on the N2 towards Cape Town – pass through Riversdale and approximately 60km after Riversdale turn left towards Stanford. At Stanford take the R43 (right) to Hermanus. Continue traveling on the Main Road through Hermanus and 2 km out of town turn right at the SandBaai/Hemel en Aarde junction (Hemel en Aarde Village shopping center on opposite far right of junction) on the R320 (to Caledon) Travel up this ‘Hemel en Aarde Valley’ road for 8km and after a steep little pass section turn left at the Karwydeskraal/De Bos Dam sign and travel down a dirt road over the dam wall, keep right and watch the speed humps. Travel around the dam until you see the Artists House/ Stonehaven sign on the right. Turn right and travel back down to the dam (watching speed humps again) where you keep left at the bottom and travel along the fynbos drive to the stone house. Please drive slowly on this section – enjoy lots of birds and fynbos.
