Description: Hunters Rest, a great escape from the frenetic pace of modern life, to the quiet of a country retreat,(the original Rex family hunting lodge), now an extensive conference and holiday resort. This resort, with all the charm and hospitality of its sister hotel Malaga, is the ideal destination. There are 91 well-appointed rooms set in a subtropical garden with magnificent indigenous trees and bird-life. We are proud of our well trained professional team that can take care of a conference or a picnic and anything between - like major congresses, product launches, small top level meetings, banquets, weddings or balls. There are also interesting hiking trails up the mountain to the old Anglo-Boer war forts, as well as an admirable bird life for nature-lovers. There is an abundance of bird life on the property and the colony of white-fronted bee-eaters is of particular interest. They have burrowed their nests in the face of the cliff to the left of the Manager's house and can be seen frolicking tirelessly in the late afternoon.
