Description: Our country is a mosaik of different cultures, our planet is a mosaik of humanity. In a world where differences are often the only thing we have in common, we share by reflecting. By looking within and seeing what the mirror tells us is the same - no matter who we are.
Our retreat is named KIASOMA - for the words A MOSIAK read as KIASOM A when the letters are reversed.
KIASOMA is a place of reflection. Its a retreat where the world-weary can find respite. It is a bush veld lodge where you can simply rest if that is all you require to revive, or partake in a range of activities to restore your soul. And when you return to the daily pace of your everyday life, the time spent at Kiasoma will encourage your heart to once more see the beauty in people and the world around you.
We teach various art forms at Kiasoma from Mosaic to Pewter Work, Fabric Painting to Sculpture. We also conduct and teach various healing modalities from Sweat lodges which are held on the first Saturday during or just after a full moon, to Medicine Wheel teachings which are held throughout the year on predetermined dates, usually with a Sweat Lodge. You can walk the Labyrinth or experience Reiki, Kahuna Massage or Crystal Healing.
There is a one hour, two hour, and three hour hiking trail at Kiasoma Retreat, that includes over 350 species of birdlife, and therefore is a bird lovers paradise. Another popular request is a photo-shoot weekend. Bring your photography club and book in for the weekend. You will never run out of the most beautiful photographic opportunities.
We offer art and healing weekends, and we will structure the weekend to suit each individual. If there is a specific art form that you would like to learn not listed on the website, please enquire, as it may not be offered at the moment due to lack of demand.
Should you not want to experience any of the healing modalities or art lessons, you are welcome to just come and stay in our self-catering or bed and breakfast cottages, and just relax and enjoy the peace and tranquility on your doorstep.
The retreat comprimises 35 ha mountainous grasslands with various animals (buck, baboon, monkey, mongoose, hare, porcupine, bushpig, jackal, brown hyena, caracal and leopard), a river and very rich birdlife.
