The cottages are situated at 1000m above sea level, and are cooled by mountain breezes even in summer. The vegitation types are Fynbos, the Succulent and Tanqua Karoo. There are many natural herbs including Cancer Bush, Buchu, Rooibos and Devils Claw (a natural anti-inflamatory) It boasts well over 200 plant species and 90 bird species, inluding the Orangebreasted and Cape sunbirds, Black Harrier, Black Eagle and Pale Chanting Goshawk. Accomodation: Waterfall cottage: 1 bedroom, with 2 single beds and a bunk. Shower with gas heater, toilet. Living room with fireplace and divan. Kitchen: gas hob, gas fridge. Outside Braai. Shepherds Cottage: 2 bedrooms (2 single beds and 2 bunks) Shower etc. as above. Hiking routes are being developed. There are several easy walks, but also scrambles and rock climbs.
