Formerly the village police station and built as a trading store in 1882, the Greyton Lodge is a charmingly renovated collection of cottages, typical of the village and set around a delightful acre of gardens and lawns, swimming pool, fruit trees, vines and roses. We cater for up to 150 people under a marquee in the garden or 60-70 people in our dining rooms. 15 en-suite bedroom, all individually decorated, some with antique brass beds, some with four poster beds, some with a lounge and some with fire places. The GL Gallery has exhibitions on a regular basis from local and well known South African artists. You can enjoy looking at the art while having a drink or a cup of tea. Perhaps you are more inclined to drive down the road to Genadendal where you will find the oldest Mission Station in South Africa. A stimulating experience, where places of interest include the printing works, Moravian restaurant serving traditional foods, water, milk and art and craft centre? definitely worth a visit. There is good selection of fine restaurants and cafe's in Greyton, so you need not go hungry or tired of eating out at the same restaurant all the time. There are several art galleries with exhibition of all kinds of art. Or use the day to walk from curious shops, antique shops or craft shops. The morning market on Saturday morning is a must, where the locals and the farmers come to sell their homemade food products and craft.
