Description:
In Greyton you will find peace, tranquility and a slower, more even pace of life only 90 minutes scenic drive from Cape Town. Close by you will find the Hermanus whale coast, and only 25 minutes away from the Walker Bay wine route.

Formerly the village police station and built as a trading store in 1882, the Greyton Lodge is a charmingly renovated collection of cottages, typical of the village and set around a delightful acre of gardens and lawns, swimming pool, fruit trees, vines and roses.

If it is romance, a get together or just a quiet time ...... we have the perfect setting.
Fine dining and country cuisine, in winter time in front of a roaring fire, or in summer under the stars with the candlelight in the magic setting of the superb gardens. The Greyton Lodge boasts one of the finest chefs in the country.

Enjoy a drink "Behind Bars" (our bar) as this used to be the old police station, located in the GL Gallery.

Full conference facility for up to 50 people. The perfect venue for functions such as weddings, birthdays and anniversaries. We cater for up to 150 people under a marquee in the garden or 60-70 people in our dining rooms.

15 en-suite bedroom, all individually decorated, some with antique brass beds, some with four poster beds, some with a lounge and some with fire places. Most of the rooms have private entrance from the garden.

Views from most of the rooms is spectacular. These inspiring mountain views contribute to the reason why the GL is being used by so many as a haven for peace and tranquility

Laze shamelessly around the sparkling pool, enjoy a game of croquet on the lawn, go for a ride, hire a bike, or take a hike (bring your own boots, walking shoes, you will need them) and head for the hills; or down to the river with rod, reel and lures, rumour has it, we have the largest eels in our rivers, plus bass.

The GL Gallery has exhibitions on a regular basis from local and well known South African artists. You can enjoy looking at the art while having a drink or a cup of tea.

Perhaps you are more inclined to drive down the road to Genadendal where you will find the oldest Mission Station in South Africa. A stimulating experience, where places of interest include the printing works, Moravian restaurant serving traditional foods, water, milk and art and craft centre? definitely worth a visit.

There is good selection of fine restaurants and cafe's in Greyton, so you need not go hungry or tired of eating out at the same restaurant all the time. There are several art galleries with exhibition of all kinds of art. Or use the day to walk from curious shops, antique shops or craft shops. The morning market on Saturday morning is a must, where the locals and the farmers come to sell their homemade food products and craft.

Always live music, light classical, old timers or jazz every Friday afternoon in our garden during summer time and in front of the fire in the Gallery during winter.
