Description:
On the fringe of the Majestic Drakensburg in the heart of the Natal Midlands lies a charming guest house - Abberley, for "Place of Happiness".
Tucked behind an avenue of oak trees, this victorian style homestead offers comfortable accommodation for the traveller.

Here Andy and Tracey Schmidt have created the setting for a comfortable sojourn into the Midlands.

Abberley lies at the heart of the Kwa Zulu Natal Midlands Meander, which stretches from Mooiriver to Howick

Set on 15 acres, of scenic meadows and forests which are home to numerous indigenous birds, Abberley offers individually styled en--suite double room accommodation. Each room opens onto a brookie lace-decorated verandah, from where you can marvel at the breathtaking views overlooking the Gowan Valley.

Enjoy tranquil walks through the woodlands and discover the magic of the pine forest. Relax on the sunlight patio or laze in the comfortable lounge which has recently been refurbished.

Relax at Abberley on our scenic estate, enjoying the view and bird life. Guests can enjoy the diverse arts and crafts that this area is renowned for. There are a vast array of activities for the outdoor enthusiast. Nature and Game Reserves are within easy driving range and within 100km the Drakensberg parks and Sani pass into Lesotho.
