Description: Nuwedam & Paardekop Guest Cottages are situated on one of the most scenic mountain ranges of the Western Cape, on top of Piekenierskloof Pass, only 160 km from Cape Town. The two cottages form part of an extensive farm where citrus fruit, grapes, decidious fruit, Rooibos tea and vegetables are produced and livestock is kept. The cottages are ideally situated for outdoor opportunities like mountain biking, hiking, farm tours, bird watching and fishing and swimming in farm dams. Both cottages can serve as a base from where the area can be explored. The town of Clanwilliam and the wild flowers are a mere 50 km to the north, the Cederberg wilderness area approx. 50 km to the north east and the coast at Lambert's Bay 60 km to the north west. The two cottages are 7 km apart on two different farms - Nuwedam and Paardekop. NUWEDAM COTTAGE:Two comfortable bedrooms - main bedroom with double bed and second with two singles. Bathroom with shower and bath. Open-plan kitchen, lounge and dining room with colour TV and DSTV. Underfloor heating and roof fans. Outside barbeque area. Bed linen, towels and wood provided. Access to beautiful swimming pool and garden. PAARDEKOP COTTAGE: One big bedroom with double bed and single bed. Two more guests can be accommodated in the lounge. Bathroom with shower. Open-plan kitchen, dining room and lounge with indoor fireplace. Outside barbeque area. Bed linen, towels and wood provided. Beautiful views over the Citrusdal valley. Some of the walking trails offer unsurpassed views of the valleys on either side of the Piekenierskloof mountain. Visible on to the south on a clear day are Table Mountain and the Swartland, with the Cederberg Mountains to the north and the Atlantic Ocean at Elands Bay to the west. Paardekop guests have access to a huge farm dam within walking distance. Ask about guided farm tours, where you can see some of the farming activities like fruit drying, picking or meet the farm animals.
