Cotswold House, which opened in 1990 as a guest house, is a colonial Cape Dutch style home and built in the late 1940’s. It was used by the second-to-last Governor-General of South Africa, Major Gideon Brand Van Zyl as his retirement home. Most activities can be arranged from Cotswold House, from Golfing, buying diamond and gold jewellery, boat charters, helicopter flights, shark-cage diving, whale watching, wine tasting, kayaking, horse riding, kite- and wind-surfing, water skiing, sailing, birding, gambling, going to the theatre, enjoying fine-dining, shopping and whatever else takes your fancy. Golf tee-off times can easily be organised for you. Day-tours can be arranged, from a multi-cultural tour around the townships, a safari in a game park, a tour around an ostrich ranch, a wine tasting experience in the Winelands, a trip up Table Mountain, a cruise to Robben Island to a drive to Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope and back, plus many more.
